Shipping & Receiving Clerk | Balmoral, NB

Due to growth, ALPA Equipment Ltd. is currently seeking a dynamic, motivated and driven individual to join our parts team!  

This posting is for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk at our Balmoral, NB location.

THE OPPORTUNITTY

Under the supervision of the Parts Team Leader, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for the shipping, receiving and storage of parts and supplies.  

This position requires the ability to multitask and be able to function in a fast-evolving work environment.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and compare items to work orders provided by supervisor
  • Count items to ensure that the correct number have been received
  • Compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders
  • Determine storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate space within the warehouse
  • Assist in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas and supervise storage activities
  • Operate forklifts to pick heavy boxes and transport them to checking areas
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and determining safe ways of stacking items on the truck and retrieving items in a safe manner
  • Record damaged or defective items and replace them
  • Handle returns and exchanges by ensuring that reverse distribution processes are followed properly
  • Make sure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that documents are available with each shipment
  • Maintain files of shipping records
  • Trace missing or lost shipments
  • Route products to departments
  • Attach identifying information and delivery instructions on containers
  • Organize records of goods shipped

REQUIREMENTS

Education, experience, and skills required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Other combinations of work/education equivalence may be considered.
  • Knowledge of parts and equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer and systems knowledge
  • Familiar with the operation of lifting or hoisting devices
  • Ability to work in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Ability to work 40 + hours per week.
  • Bilingual (French/English).
